Murder is murder. Shooting someone in the back is deplorable. Shooting on the crowded streets of a city teeming with people coming and going during the early rush to get to work is reckless. Standing behind anyone who murders, risks lives of innocents and shoots their prey in the back is immoral. So brilliant a man should have shown more imagination. History will not remember his name or his life.

Not everyone is following the Mangione case because of healthcare. The government is trying to give him sham trials and the dual prosecutions are blatantly unfair. The ordering of the cases is also designed to get around a NY state double jeopardy statute, so the idea that having state and federal prosecutions in this case is A-OK is a bit inaccurate.
Also, the prosecution’s case doesn’t make sense. They’re bragging about DNA on trash from a trash can? Or on a backpack left in Central Park? His face isn’t in the shooting video, and I think there’s an argument about the handwriting matching the “manifesto”
I know you are writing a book with James Patterson, and I hope it doesn’t ignore that a lot of people just think these prosecutions suck.
