As backhanded compliments go, this one is not bad: "I will share with you the gracious note from my host at the eclectic Palm Beach dinner party. “You are always such a great part of any conversation!! Even Strip club owners love you.”
(I have always hated Palm Beach, and said so, in a long piece for the Chicago Tribune as a brand new columnist. It was a lotta fun to do a number on Worth Avenue.)

The Trump supporters either accept the massive conflicts-of-interest as they grow day-by-day or they just outright deny them like they deny any truth about Trump-world that they don’t like, that threatens their world view.
I’m pretty sure that if Jesus returned tomorrow and said something honest and true about Trump’s incompetence, ineptness and malignancy, they’d support Trump over Jesus and willfully crucify Jesus espousing many justifications. So goes half of the US voting public. Willingly giving up democracy and in clueless denial. It’s sociologically amazing to watch.
