Come Chat with Me!
Announcing a new group chat exclusively for subscribers of “Vicky Ward Investigates”
This is me leaving the courthouse yesterday after closing arguments in the Tom Barrack trial.
We had some exciting news from Substack yesterday: the launch of a brand-new feature called Substack Chats. That means that there will be a dedicated space for all subscribers of Vicky Ward Investigates to gather, to talk about the news, and to ask me questions about what I’ve learned in my reporting.
The Chat feature will formally launch tomorrow, but Substack has been kind enough to give me and some other writers early access. I hope you’ll come with me as I take it for a test drive.
There’s so much to talk about: the Barrack trial, the Trump Org trial, the love affair between corporate America and MBS, the feud between MBS and Joe Biden, Putin, Elon Musk and Twitter, Rishi Sunak…and on and on.
I’m looking forward to exploring the possibilities of talking with you directly about people and things at the nexus of money, politics, and the culture. I especially look forward to sharing interesting snippets of stories that I have reported on but that wound up on the cutting room floor. Those are sometimes the juiciest bits!
It’s wonderful timing that I’m getting this early access right after I spent yesterday at the closing arguments in the trial for Trump crony Tom Barrack—a trial I think has been astonishingly underreported by the mainstream media. It’s critically important not least because of all the insight it has given us into corruption in the Trump campaign and White House—especially at a time when Trump is reportedly planning to announce his new campaign in the coming weeks. But there are some pretty major takeaways: For example, we learned in court about the panicked debate that was held over which door to let MBS in to visit the White House when he was not yet crown prince. That’s something that is both funny and alarming, given how our relations with the Saudis and MBS in particular subsequently played out.
I put out a Substack last night about what it was like watching the dramatic conclusion of the trial and how the tentacles of this case reach even Putin. And now I want to know: Why do you think this case has been so overlooked? Come let me know over in my first Chat—and feel free to ask me any of your burning questions about what it was like in that courtroom and why this trial matters so very much.
The chat will be exclusive to my subscribers, both free and paid, so I hope you’ll come say hi and chime in with your thoughts! See you over there!
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
Forgive me but you write using terms unknown to us or the English dictionary. The procedure is also confusing to us I wanted to have somebody assist Actor Paul Newman's daughters on legal irregularities common in Palm Beach County, Florida. They or a third party communicated to us in emotional desperation. They needed help and we wanted to use your capabilities with our procedural documentation. In essence the bad guys brought a dying Paul to their office to revise his will in their and there buddies favor. The daughters were distraught. Devious perpetrating lawyers invariably attempt to stifle media in their realm. We know the tricks Worldwide.
We have been assisting especially elderly women. Please read seniorsavior.com, statedepartment.com/.org and internalrevenue.com and org for the gist of what we are attempting to convey. You all are remarkable quick studies and can expedite safety. We are impressed by your work.
